There is a new Astronomy Ambassadors program that will kick off with a free workshop Jan. 5-6 right before the general meeting. The workshop will provide tools and techniques for effective outreach, which will help put a face on science in local communities and build a broader base of K-12 students and families interested in science.
Details are here: http://aas.org/education/ambassadors. We will build an online forum for communication among the Astronomy Ambassadors to exchange ideas, resources, and experiences.
