Yale Society of Physics Students Talk: Mary-Louise Timmermans, Yale Climate & Energy Institute, “Arctic Climate Variability: The Role of the Ocean”

March 24, 2014
Yale Society of Physics Students
presents:

Arctic Climate Variability: The Role of the Ocean

A Talk with Professor Mary-Louise Timmermans

Professor Timmermans will discuss recent changes in the Arctic climate system, including increasing atmospheric and oceanic temperatures, ocean freshening, unusual atmospheric circulation patterns, and the decline of sea ice. She will also discuss the innovative oceanographic field measurements which are used to investigate Arctic Ocean dynamics and variability and to determine ocean drivers of Arctic sea ice and climate change.
