presents:

Using Geophysics to Probe the Earth’s Interior: Adventures in Observational Seismology

A Talk with Professor Maureen Long

Professor Long will talk about her career path and how she ended up in the field of geophysics. Then, she’ll talk about the tools of observational seismology and describe how we can use observations of earthquakes to learn about the structure and dynamics of the Earth’s interior. Finally, she’ll talk about a few of her recent and ongoing projects, including some field work in the Peruvian Andes and the Appalachians.
