The Higgs Boson

A Talk with Professor Sarah Demers

The 2013 Nobel Prize in physics went to two of the theorists responsible for the ideas behind the Higgs Boson.  Experimentalists have been hunting for this particle for decades, with success finally coming for the ATLAS and CMS collaborations in 2012.  What is this particle?  Why is it important?  How did we find it?  Learn the answers to these questions and Yale’s role in the discovery.
