I have enjoyed diving into my project this summer at QuEra Computing, where I am learning to apply the theory of quantum chaos to characterizing the performance of their Rydberg atom quantum simulator, Aquila. It is fascinating how ideas in theoretical physics from random matrices to the quantum properties of black holes find practical applications in quantum computing. I am also gaining insight into how the growing quantum computing industry is collaborating with clients and academic partners to begin showing how quantum computing can help solve real-world problems. This has been an amazing opportunity, and I’d like to thank the folks at QuEra for making this experience possible!
